Andermatt, Switzerland

There’s Zermatt, Klosters and now there’s Andermatt. Nestled just on the other side of Lugarno, which borders Italy, this place took me by surprise. I was expecting a few sounds of music-type moments but I wasn’t expecting to be so completely contented in this place that has it both ways. Time standing still and allowing you to breathe, the look, to take in the breathtaking beauty, to hear the quietness of it all, to keep it simple and yet… Its elegance and sophistication can still be felt especially while staying at the Chedi Andermatt. This hotel is an oasis unto itself. A beautiful, zen space, with palace size rooms, a Michelin-star restaurant, and an indoor lap pool within a serenity spa. I can go on and on.. and the staff were just so lovely.

Take the gondola (or hike) up to a starting point and then hike away for hours on end and then finish it off with a glass of wine and some delicious food ( bar menu is preferable) at the views for days Grosch.

I will most definitely be back in Andermatt … sooner than you think.
