New York City

My home for the past 25 years. This is where the magic happens. This is where my daughters were born, where I raised my family where I forged a path ahead with romistable. When I think of New York I think of constant movement, and constant motion yet at the same time, New York is a place where you must stop and take in your surroundings at that precise moment you are presently in at that time. Take the subway, take the ferries, take a yellow cab, and immerse yourself in the myriad of food, gatherings, hotspots, hidden gems, marketplaces, theaters, galleries, museums, and of course the uniqueness and fabulousness of the people that make New York City the greatest city on earth.

NYC top 10

Pasquale Jones - One of my overall favorite spots to eat

Saturday morning at the local farmers market. ( locations across the city )

La Mercerie in the Roman guild building. The quintessential NYC spot for so many reasons. Brunch, and dinner for excellent food. And a beautiful space with beautiful things to buy if you can afford them. Looking is just fine in my book.  Snag a reservation at Le Coucou for Daniel Rose’s sublime cuisine around the corner.

Raouls/ Indochine/ Bond Street - The trinity of old-school restaurants that never go out of style. If people ask me from out of town where should we have dinner always answer with one of these three places.  Plan early. Reservations are very tough to come by. But well worth it.

Via Quadrono on 73rd between Madison and Fifth Ave for lunch. Their vegetable soup is simply the best.

Drinks at the Mark, the Crosby, and public hotels ( in their library bar)

Little Owl, one of my favorite local restaurants in the West Village

A walk through the reservoir in Central Park especially during cherry blossom season and in mid-October with the color of the leaves.

Your neighborhood diner. Whether visiting from out of town or settling in as a new resident, the diner nearby often serves more than just diner food. It’s also a microcosm of your community. I love that. Elevated chopped salads, delicious soups, and of course the myriad staples. In my neighborhood, I’m partial to Mansion Diner and Three Guys.
