I really thought it was going to be a one-and-done type of place. I hope after my first time that it won’t be my last. The setting is just something really special. You have to be in it to understand the magic that this area radiates. The hotel tour (cocktails or lunches on their breathtaking patios or restaurants) is in my opinion a must. Be it Villa D’este, the OG grande dame of the see-and-be-seen set hotel, to the new gold standards of Passalacqua and the Mandarin Oriental. My husband and I were delighted to visit them all and were most fortunate to stay at the Mandarin. What a magical place. And do yourselves a favor and get a boat. It’s overpriced but well worth the indulgence. Trust me.
